Suggestions Welcome

  1. Can't wait to see what suggestions you get! I don't know if they get to select which typewriters to use day-to-day but if so I'm interested in that. Also do they ever build relationships with a particular machine (give it a name, use it more often, etc.)?
    - Which is more important - typeface, touch, appearance or something else?
    - Does the brand or model name make a difference?

  2. I wonder whether they feel that they concentrate more on their work when using a typewriter instead of a computer. (But I don't know how often they use computers.)

  3. I would ask if they have had any interactions with typewriters (or alternatively, any "retro" forms of things: record players, 8-tracks, etc) before.

  4. They use computers a lot. We have some classes that spend a significant amount of time in the computer lab. If you count smartphones as computers they use them all the time!

  5. Q: Do you write better on a typewriter?

  6. Q: How do you find you remember what you wrote (and how you felt about writing it) on a typewriter, compared to a computer?

  7. PS: If the CTP was the only reason for the typosphere - it would be reason enough.
