Michelle Melnick form NBC called me today with some good news. If NBC Nightly News isn't shortened because of a hockey game, then her story about typewriters should air tonight. I know she filmed my class, but she was also at MTE (Mesa Typewriter Exchange) and spent some time with Bill. If you happen to be near a TV check it out.
Tough break. When it's typewriters vs. bomb-sniffing dogs the bomb-sniffing dogs will always get the airtime.
Our NBC station did not carry the typewriter segment either :(
ReplyDeleteLast year, the Chicago office of NBC Universal wanted to do a feature on typewriter enthusiasts in Chicago and NYC. We had an initial interview and a schedule to shoot in my apartment. Unfortunately, the New York office thumbed it down as it's not the story they'd want at the moment. The producer told me that it might still happen in the future but it also might not. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the dogs saw a typewriter case and got suspicious?
ReplyDeleteIs the story available online?
ReplyDeleteP.s. LOL Richard.
so it didn't air then? ):
ReplyDeleteNo, it did not. Maybe soon?
DeleteThat the word screenwriting can be used as an archaic double meaning for typing directly onto computer screens is blogging news IMO.
