The Typewriters In Use

  1. Nice to see such a large collection in use. Lovely! I like the cell phone next to the Adler. (Cell phones are allowed in schools these days?)

  2. Phones are a conundrum. They are allowed on campus, but they can't use them in class. Out is OK. On is No-Way!

  3. Bet the room sounded great! And well done to the students for putting up with Mr. Adney's strange obsession. :-)

  5. Mike, I just read the comment and here's the trick. Whatever you do sand and then sand the primer. Lightly with 220 will make it smooth as silk. You can then go over it with any spray paint you like. I am partial to Krylon. It has good coverage and an interesting array of colors. I've read that spray paint takes something like a month to really harden properly. You can tell it's at its hardest when there is no more new paint smell. All the VOCs have off-gassed by then.
