Annika Cline of our local NPR station, KJZZ, recorded a very nice piece about typewriting in Arizona. It's a great read that features one of my students getting her very own first typewriter. You can find it at:

This story comes on the heels of the publishing of Richard's new book of which there is a hearty mention of First Draft, Phoenix's local typewriter-friendly venue. If you find yourself in need of a digital detox, grab your typewriter and head on over. Order a drink. Have a chat. Write a draft. Enjoy the nice weather and know that typewriting is alive and well in Phoenix.
Great story, it's good to know there are still news stories appearing about typewriters, further evidence that it isn't just a passing fad.
ReplyDeleteI do wish we had something like First Draft over here in Albuquerque.
Bravo! It's great to hear the CTP is going strong :D
ReplyDeleteI love the story. I'll put it up on Welcome to the Typosphere in a few days.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear the Phoenix Typospherians making the news. Great story.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ryan! I posted the link to Bills Facebook page but I think he needs to approve the post.
ReplyDeleteI am an event photographer, I love this venue, and I will revisit this venue in a heartbeat. The venues have really great staff and pretty decent drinks. Their halls and rooms are absolutely gorgeous.
